Charissa serves as a Licensed Professional Counselor at The Vale. She graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Letters with distinction. She also earned a Master of Arts in Biblical Studies with honors and a Master of Arts in Biblical Counseling with honors from Dallas Theological Seminary. Charissa has been involved with recovery groups since 2007. She is the Director of Recovery for Life at Northwest Bible Church in Dallas, TX. She formerly founded/co-led Journey Groups at c|life church. She runs equine therapy groups at Jake E's Riding Round-Up.

Charissa uses an innovative approach in working with groups by combining recovery principles with experiential therapies. She also provides leadership training to group facilitators throughout the year. Charissa regularly teaches on topics of faith with an emphasis on the intersection of spiritual, mental, emotional and physical dynamics.

Charissa uses play therapy and is EMDR trained. She loves working with kids and adolescents using play therapy, equine therapy, CBT, Theraplay, and other creative therapies. Her passion is to come alongside those who are hurting and struggling to help them find truth, hope, healing, connection, and growth.
