The Ideal Client:

An ideal client for counseling is someone who is willing to take risks to talk about their story. As we look at our life narrative, we become aware of themes and patterns that help us better understand our current situation. Change isn’t easy, but counseling is a safe place to process our story in light of the hope and freedom we have in Jesus. There will always be difficulties around us that we can not control, but an ideal client is willing to depend on God's grace to look at themselves and move toward making the changes they need to in order to reach their desires and goals.

Favorite Resources:

Jack’s favorite counseling resources are the Christian Counseling and Education Foundations books and minibooks. He also refers to Dan Allender material and his conception of story with clients.
