She is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Synergetic Play Therapist. She has worked in a variety of settings including community mental health with survivors of human rights abuses, behavioral health including crisis intervention, and the adoption/foster care industry. Brandi is passionate about serving children/adolescents and their families as well as adult individuals.
Brandi specializes in working with children and adolescents, parent and child relationship challenges, parenting strategies, behavioral problems, attachment concerns, trauma recovery, depression, anxiety, and women’s issues.
Brandi uses a variety of treatment modalities including play therapy and expressive arts with children. Brandi is a Certified Synergetic Play Therapist (SPT) and has considerable training in Child Centered Play Therapy. Brandi uses the concepts and skills of SPT as an approach to help kids, teens, and parents navigate life’s challenges. (SPT) is a specific modality of play therapy. It is unique in that it combines theory from neuroscience, attachment, attunement, physics, nervous system regulation, and mindfulness to create a way of supporting children in therapeutic play. SPT allows children to find their authentic selves in the playroom, leading to lasting change in ability to self soothe, problem solve, and act with confidence in who they are.
With adults, Brandi takes a humanistic approach. She values the relationships she is honored to have with clients and believes that the counselor-client relationship is one of the most impactful parts of counseling which she believes leads to healing. Brandi enjoys coming alongside others in their journey towards a more authentic self. Brandi believes that children and adults both have the capacity to develop their innate ability to discover their own inner wisdom, growth, healing, and fulfillment.
Brandi is active in her local church. She enjoys the Arts and especially musical theatre. She also loves anything outdoors and being near the water. But, what Brandi loves above all else is hanging with her husband and two growing boys.
